Oxfam in Sri Lanka to use block chain technology to better insure farmers
Oxfam in Sri Lanka (OiSL) is delighted to join forces with Aon and Etherisc in developing inclusive and affordable crop insurance based on blockchain technology. OiSL’s extensive experience and ongoing weather index insurance programmes have provided a strong platform to build upon and thereby extend programmes to include thousands of men and women from the rural farming community in Sri Lanka.
The new system is working to help provide feasible solutions using blockchain to minimize costs and give farmers a better opportunity to access insurance.
This partnership with one of the world’s largest insurance brokers, AON and leading InsureTech company, Etherisc is working to introduce the latest technology in service of inclusive development while promoting new ways of diverse actors working together.
